Dubai - Life Coaching by Dave Rogers

Modules #1-5 - September 8-9, 2006
My experience - Singapore airlines direct flight to Dubai was smooth and uneventful – just the way I enjoy air travel to be! Arrival in the middle of the night and direct to the hotel within 45 minutes – WOW, wonderful! This was my first visit to Dubai and I am pleased to report that it was good, great and terrific. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Dubai, though it was less than 72 hours, due to a quick turnaround flight to Auckland to appear at the Ultimate Wealth Weekend coordinated by XL life members Mike Handcock and Lisa Dudson.
As a coach, some of the questions that I asked myself about Dubai, and I hope you enjoy some of the answers included:
What is Dubai?
Dubai is one of seven emirates that make up the federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the second most important after Abu Dhabi, the capital and the seat of the UAE’s oil wealth.

Who lives in Dubai?
Dubai’s population, which was 183,200 in 1975, has been growing by up to 7% a year, reaching 1.4m at the end of 2004. Expatriates make up at least 80% of Dubai’s population, and consist mainly of Indians, Pakistanis and Filipinos as well as a large contingent of expatriates from Europe.

When to Visit in Dubai?
Anytime - the city-state now has about 300 hotels, 30 shopping malls and gets more than 5m foreign visitors a year. Key projects to visit include the offshore Palm islands (three man-made islands, one the size of Manhattan), the Burj Dubai (the world’s tallest tower) and Dubailand (a vast theme park), and the ski resort at Gate to the Emerits.

Where are Dubai’s strength?
